Family Friendly Resort in Brisbane

My family recently visited Brisbane for a two night break over the school holidays. We chose to stay at the absolutely beautiful Brisbane Marriott, located on Queens Street.

Our booking for Brisbane Marriott was booked under their M Passport Family Package. The package includes:
– M Passport Gift Pack for children
– Children’s in-room amenity
– Exclusive M Passport kids activity daily (more on this soon!)
– $30 food & beverage credit per night
– Daily Breakfast for up to 2 adults and 2 children under 12 years
– Children under 12 eat free (when ordering from children’s menu and accompanied by a dining adult)
– Early check-in at 10am and late check-out at 3pm (subject to availability)

The Brisbane Marriott occupies a prime position along the Brisbane river, in the heart of the CBD. The rooms are spacious and well appointed, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. We were staying as a group of six (3 adults and 3 children,) and enjoyed the comfort of two interconnecting rooms. There was ample room for us all.

Right from the moment we pulled into the Brisbane Marriott we knew that we were in good hands with the attentive staff. Valet parking made our arrival with children a breeze, and we appreciated the complimentary glass of sparkling wine at check in.

Once we arrived in our room we were delighted to find boxes of cakes and bottles of bubbles in the fridge! The views of the CBD were delightful and the bedrooms very comfortable.

After unpacking we headed straight to the hotel swimming pool. This is an outdoor undercover space which takes in views of both the Brisbane River and the CBD, as well as the Story Bridge and Howard Smith Wharves. The pool was a good temperature even in winter, and the spa was very relaxing. The pool space also had a sauna which was I really enjoyed.

For dinner, on our first evening, we headed to Motion Dining, the hotel restaurant. Motion Dining serves a delicious range of meals from steak to fish, to share plates. I had the tuna which I enjoyed, and the children loved their kids meals of spaghetti and chicken nuggets. The cocktails were divine, and the children really enjoyed the colouring in packs that the restaurant staff gave to them.

When we checked in we received the children’s ‘M Passports’ which was included in our booking deal. The passports had a scavenger hunt around the city, which prompted us to visit some real fun and interesting landmarks. We decided to do the hunt on our second day at the hotel. After a delicious buffet breakfast at Motion Dining, we set off to explore the city using our ‘M Passport’ maps. Our first stop was the Queensland Museum, followed by GOMA art gallery, Kangaroo Point, Howard Smith Wharves, then finishing off the day with Fox in the Box Escape rooms. Fox in the Box was so much fun, and not like anything we had ever done before. At the end of the day we went back to the hotel and showed the staff pictures of the map points that we visited. The children were then given special stamps in their passports which they loved, and rewarded with an ice cream treat in our room (complimentary of the hotel as a part of their reward.). You don’t have to complete all of the map points, as children will get their reward for simply doing one. We were just having so much fun that we decided to keep going! That same evening we enjoyed in-room dining.

On our final day we were back at Motion Dining for a buffet breakfast. We were blown away by the options available. From a full cooked breakfast, to order as you like eggs, and a fresh cold pressed juice station. We decided to enjoy the complimentary late check out, and spent the rest of the morning swimming in the pool and using the sauna, then walked to Queens Street Mall just before leaving.

This was such a delightful trip to Brisbane and we will most definitely will be back staying with Marriott again.
