Santa Barbara, California, USA

Our family recently set on a California adventure. We have three and half weeks to road trip from Los Angeles, to Santa Barbara, San Francisco, Lake Tahoe, Bishop Creek, Legoland and Disneyland. It is a trip I have been planning been excitedly planning for almost a year now, and I am so pleased to be taking you along with me.

We chose Santa Barbara as our first stop on our road trip because I had always heard great things about it. We flew into LAX airport min Los Angeles early in the morning, and instead of staying in LA for our first night, like we had previously done, we decided to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy this seaside town instead.

Accommodation
We chose to stay at the absolutely stunning, Hilton Santa Barbara Beach Front Resort for our one night stay. The resort is situated right on the East Beach in an idyllic location. The property consists of 24-acres with a tree-lined pool and tennis courts, on-site wine tastings, fire pit experience, salon and spa, and much more.

There are 335 spacious rooms and 25 suites featuring bright, coastal-inspired dĂ©cor, each with a private balcony or patio. Even though there are a lot of rooms at this resort, each guest is given time and attention. We felt very well cared for.

Dining options include their cafe with Starbucks coffee, breakfast at Roundhouse, s’mores around an oceanfront fire pit and dinner, drinks and dessert at The Set.

Our room was beautiful and perfect for our family of five. We had two large beds, a sofa couch and a cot available for our baby. The bathroom was beautifully appointed, and the balcony had a spectacular view of the ocean.

Our Adventures
Outside of the hotel we only had a sort time in Santa Barbara, and it is certainly a place I would love to return to one way for a longer stay. We did get to visit the Paseo Nuevo mall which is a beautiful outdoor shopping experience, full of brands I had previously shopped and ones I had never heard of before.

We also spent some time at Stearn’s Wharf, which is a must. On the wharf you can find restaurants, takeaway and speciality shops. If you look out to the water, you can spot seals and sea lions like we did!

Other things to do in Santa Barbara
Some things that we didn’t have time to get to, but would be fun, include the Santa Barbara Zoo, Shoreline Park, Arroyo Burro Beach County Park and the local museums.
