Christmas Decor 2024: A Chic Celebration at Home
Welcome to a festive showcase of holiday cheer with a chic twist! This year, we designed a Christmas decor setup at my home on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, capturing a refined holiday aesthetic with the talented help of local creatives. Each element, from our lush table settings to shimmering ornaments, was carefully selected to create a warm and elegant holiday space. Join us on a journey through our Christmas celebration, filled with soft greens, neutrals, sparkling glassware, and timeless touches—plus tips to help you bring similar style into your own home this holiday season.
A Festive Vision Brought to Life
To capture the elegance and warmth of our Christmas decor, we collaborated with the incredible Nicola HollandPhotography (Instagram). Nicola’s keen eye and attention to detail highlight each subtle touch in the decor, from delicate glassware to the greenery that brings a natural, organic feel. She perfectly captured the essence of a sophisticated yet welcoming Christmas.
Tip: To create a cohesive holiday aesthetic, focus on a unified colour scheme throughout your space. I chose greens and neutrals with pops of gold and silver for an effortlessly chic vibe that flows from the table to the tree.
Table Styling by Simply Style Co.
The breathtaking table setting was created with pieces from Simply Style Co. (Instagram), whose modern yet timeless designs brought sophistication and warmth to our table. Their glassware, natural-toned crockery, and delicate finishes tied together our Christmas theme. I loved how the elegant glassware reflected the candlelight, adding a soft glow to our evening celebrations.
Tip: For a festive yet sophisticated table, consider layering different textures, like glass, ceramic, and linens. This adds depth and interest to the table without overcrowding it. Add soft neutrals for a versatile look that works from daytime brunch to an evening feast.
Delicious Creations by SweetP Cakes and Cookies
What’s Christmas without a little sweetness? SweetP Cakes and Cookies (Instagram) crafted stunning, Christmas-themed cookies and gingerbread houses that were as beautiful as they were delicious. Each cookie was intricately decorated with seasonal colours, and the cookie houses brought a whimsical charm that added to the table’s festive ambience. They truly made our holiday setup feel magical.
Tip: Incorporate edible decor, like cookies or mini gingerbread houses, into your holiday spread. Not only are they lovely to look at, but they’re also fun for guests to enjoy.
Florals by Laneway Noosa
The lush floral arrangements from Laneway Noosa (Instagram) completed our setup with pops of green and natural textures, adding freshness to the neutral and metallic palette. Their arrangements brought life to our decor, balancing out the table’s polished look with an organic touch. It was the perfect way to add warmth and natural beauty to the space.
Tip: To make your floral arrangements stand out, choose a few types of greenery and pair them with flowers in similar tones. This keeps the look unified and chic while bringing in holiday cheer.
The Christmas Tree: Silver, Gold, and White Elegance
The Christmas tree, which I styled personally, was designed with a timeless palette of silver, gold, and white. I wanted the tree to be a sophisticated yet understated focal point, so I chose ornaments with a subtle shimmer to add elegance and warmth. It served as a glowing centrepiece, reflecting our chic aesthetic with a touch of classic Christmas magic.
Tip: To create a similar look, start with a simple colour palette for your ornaments and add a few reflective pieces to bring sparkle. A cohesive colour scheme gives the tree a polished look, perfect for sophisticated holiday decor.
I Hope You’re Inspired!
