Rosie’s Equestrian Show Pony-Themed Birthday Party

We just had the most enchanting celebration for Rosie’s 4th birthday with an Equestrian Show Pony theme! It’s hard to believe my little girl is already four! You all know how much I adore organising children’s birthday parties, and creating a magical day for Rosie and her friends was such a joy. These celebrations are always a highlight of our year and fill our hearts with unforgettable memories.

The theme and location
When I asked Rosie what theme she wanted for her 4th birthday party, she immediately said, “Something with horses.” She absolutely adores horses, so we decided on an incredible Equestrian Show Pony-themed party. Let me tell you, it was a huge hit!

We held Rosie’s party at Buderim Pony Club on Ballinger Road, Buderim. The Pony Club was the perfect venue, offering a wonderful setting for the kids to enjoy the theme. With the hire, we got full use of their kitchen, which made it so convenient for preparing and serving food. The day was truly magical, and seeing Rosie’s face light up with joy made it all worthwhile.

Horses
One of the highlights of Rosie’s party was undoubtedly the beautiful horses, Elmo and Cherry, from Sparkles and Co. The children had an unforgettable time riding them and playing fun riding games like flags. They also enjoyed brushing their hair and decorating their manes, painting their hooves, and adding a touch of sparkle with glitter. Elmo and Cherry were incredibly gentle and patient, making the experience magical for all the young guests. The presence of these wonderful horses truly brought the equestrian show pony theme to life, creating cherished memories for Rosie and her friends.

Our party planner
Once again, we teamed up with the amazing My Little Party Hire to create Rosie’s fantastic birthday celebration. Jasmin, who has now organised nine of our parties, is simply outstanding. Every event has had its own unique theme, and each one has been a smashing success. From a Malibu Barbie pool party to an adopt-a-puppy fiesta, a koala-themed bash, a fairy gathering, and more – Jasmin’s imagination knows no bounds!

My Little Party Hire is known for their eco-friendly approach, avoiding plastic and limiting single-use items. Their commitment to sustainability extends to the careful disposal of party waste, showcasing their dedication to protecting the environment.

Jasmin’s dedication is evident in every aspect of the party, from setup to pack down. She handcrafts most of the decor, including the photobooth we enjoyed at Rosie’s pony party. Her eco-conscious choices reflect her genuine care for the planet. Jasmin is an exceptional party planner, and I’m so grateful to have found someone who shares my passion for hosting wonderful celebrations. She handled almost every detail, even providing the cake knife and lighter! This allowed me to fully engage with Rosie and her friends, lead all the party games, and truly make the day special for my little girl.

Adopt a pony
One of the standout features of Rosie’s party was the enchanting adopt-a-pony station, organised by My Little Party Hire. The children could choose one of four adorable ponies to take home, each coming with its own handmade blanket which they could dress their pony in. The kids had a wonderful time dressing their ponies, brushing their hair, and adding a touch of sparkle with glitter. This interactive and imaginative activity was a huge hit, allowing each child to bring a piece of the magical day home with them. The children then filled out an adoption certificate for their pony and got a photo at our photobooth chair.

The food
For Rosie’s party, the delightful feast was crafted by the incredibly talented Dee from The Noosa Forager. Her culinary creations not only provided a delicious lunch but also added to the party’s decor, making it a visual and gastronomic delight!

Dee prepared an array of Rosie’s favourite foods, including sushi, fairy bread, and macarons. There was a wonderful selection of hot and cold dishes, with hot sausage rolls being a particular hit.

What truly stood out to me was Dee’s meticulous attention to detail. I shared our dietary preferences with her, and she took care of everything seamlessly, allowing me to fully enjoy the celebration. Watching the kids delight in the whimsical and tasty spread, I was amazed by the care and thought Dee put into the menu.

Dee didn’t forget the adults either. She put together an impressive platter featuring a large cheese board, assorted meats, breads, and crackers. My personal favourite was the zucchini-wrapped cheese! The spread included plenty of options for vegans and vegetarians, ensuring everyone had something to enjoy.

Dee’s contribution truly enhanced Rosie’s birthday celebration. The food not only nourished us but also added a special touch to the overall atmosphere, perfectly complementing the Equestrian Show Pony theme.

The cookies and cake
Sweet P Cakes and Cookies, masterfully led by Ellena, delighted Rosie and her friends with their delightful treats at the party. Each guest found beautifully decorated horse-shaped cookies at their place setting upon arrival.

When it was time to sing “Happy Birthday,” we brought out Rosie’s specially chosen cake. Ellena, who has worked on over a dozen of my children’s parties, created a stunning heart-shaped cake, very on trend, adorned with beautiful pink piped icing and a lovely horse design in the middle. The cake was not only stunning but incredibly tasty too; there’s never a crumb left as both children and parents alike love it!

Games and prizes
Rosie’s party was a hub of laughter and excitement as the children immersed themselves in a series of delightful party games. We played classic favourites like musical statues and pass the parcel, with a twist. Instead of traditional wrapping, Jasmin introduced an eco-friendly approach with a magic treasure box filled with surprises for each child. The games brought a unique sense of joy and camaraderie among Rosie’s young guests, making every moment filled with unforgettable magic.

Adding to the fun, the children enjoyed races on hobby horses provided by My Little Party Hire. The beautifully crafted hobby horses were a huge hit, and the kids had a fantastic time competing in friendly races. This added an extra layer of excitement and energy to the party, making the equestrian theme come alive in a playful and engaging way.

Adding to the magic of Rosie’s party were the delightful prizes we sourced from Kuddly Kids in Buderim. Winners were treated to enchanting gifts such as a pen kit, notebook, and hair clips. Kuddly Kids also provided the prizes for inside the treasure box used for pass the parcel. These included more hair clips, pens, and cutters. Kuddly Kids proved to be a treasure trove for unique and beautiful gifts, ensuring the birthday party was an unforgettable experience for our young guests. The whimsical atmosphere and charming prizes made it a day that Rosie and her friends will treasure for years to come. After all, what’s a party without some fun and games!

Another enchanting activity was the potion-making session organised by My Little Party Hire. The children participated in creating a special birthday wish potion for Rosie, with each child offering her a heartfelt birthday wish. This magical activity not only captivated the kids but also made Rosie feel truly special on her big day.

Invitation, sign and pony adoption certificates
Little J Designs crafted the most charming and engaging invitations for Rosie’s birthday bash, themed around Equestrian Show Ponies. Jess’s creative touch brought pastel colours and delightful horse elements to the invitations, perfectly setting the tone for the celebration. Rosie was thrilled with her invitation and couldn’t wait to share it with her friends!

In addition to the invitations, Jess also created adorable pony adoption certificates and signage for the party. Her attention to detail and artistic flair made every element of the celebration feel special and cohesive. It’s always a joy to have Jess create these memorable pieces that will be treasured in our family’s memory boxes for years to come.

Bunting and placemats
Our beautiful bunting was handmade by The Little Shindig Shop, which creates the most wonderful handmade decorations. Based in Melbourne they can create bunting, tassels, party favours and more, then post them to any location. She also made beautiful placemats which took centre stage on the main party table. The look was gingham in mostly pastel colours.

Party favour
The party favour bags from Goodieland were a huge hit with Rosie’s guests. Each bag was beautifully themed around horses, perfectly tying into the equestrian show pony party. Inside, the children found delightful surprises including a horse keyring, a fun sticker, a colouring-in sheet, and a bracelet-making kit complete with a charming horse charm. These thoughtful goodies added an extra touch of magic to the day and were a lovely way for the children to take a piece of the celebration home with them.

Photographer
Capturing all the precious moments of Rosie’s special day was our talented photographer, Nicola Holland. Nicola, who is not only a dear friend but also Rosie’s godmother, has been photographing our family for almost ten years. Her ability to capture the joy and essence of every celebration is truly remarkable. With her skilled eye and personal connection to our family, Nicola ensured that every magical moment of Rosie’s equestrian show pony-themed party was beautifully preserved.
