Last week we met with our designer Brad from Icon Building Design to finalise the plans for ‘Didillibah Springs.’ It’s only taken two drawings for Brad to get the design perfect. It goes to show that when you match clear vision with a great designer you can really streamline the process. Now we just need to wait for our land to settle and we’ll be ready to start the build process.

For those of you who don’t know my husband is a builder and we own Real Living Homes. You can check out our website, Instagram and Facebook.

The idea for the plan was for it to have a resort feel. The master to be separate to most of the other bedrooms and living area. Also for the hub of the home to be the pool area. You can easily see that Brad has ticked all of these boxes and this Mama is secretly loving that our fifth bedroom is listed as study/nursery!!!!! Can you see the Palm Springs vibe throughout?

Send me a message on Instagram and let me know what you think! Once we have the final floor layout I’ll share it with you.

Now for the photos….

And so it begins…

If you have been following my families journeys for awhile, you will know that in recent years we have moved house ALOT! For whatever reason none of the houses we have built stuck for us. In fact last time I counted Ryan and I have moved 13 times in 12 years!

Well, moving is about to be a thing of the past for this little family, because we have officially purchased ourselves a one and half acre block in Didillibah (on the Sunshine Coast.)  It’s big, it’s flat and it’s everything we could dream of. Now to start designing our dream home! As many of you know Ryan, my husband, is a builder, which makes the process even more fun!

This page of my blog will be dedicated to project “dream house”, and I can’t wait to share our journey with you. At this point all I know is that we will be taking inspiration from Palm Springs, which is super exciting because I wanted the house to have some character and having a theme gives us direction. I love Pinterest and have set up a board for inspiration which you can check out here!
